Abstract
Paralysis of the left recurrent laryngeal nerve as a complication of various types of heart disease is a well known
clinical entity. It is a recognized complication of a number of conditions including arterial septal defect, patent
ductus arteriosus, primary pulmonary hypertension, Eisenmenger¡¯s syndrome and aortic aneurysm. We report a
case of left recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy associated with a huge thoracic aortic aneurysm in an old man with
a history of hypertension
